Ana Luísa Rebelo de Oliveira Pires

Biography

Ana Luisa de Oliveira Pires completed her Post-Doctoral studies in Educational Sciences at the University of Lisbon (2005–2007) and earned her PhD in Educational Sciences / Education and Development (2002) at NOVA University Lisbon – Faculty of Sciences and Technology. She also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences / Education and Development (1995) from the same institution and a Degree in Psychology (1984) from ISPA – University Institute.

She is currently a Coordinating Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (IPS), School of Education (ESE), where she is also a member of the Technical-Scientific Council. In addition, she is a Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA) and serves as Director of Medi@ções Journal (ESE-IPS).

Her academic contributions include more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals, over 30 book chapters, and 5 books. She has organized 10 scientific events, participated in more than 50 conferences and seminars, and supervised 40 Master’s theses and advanced training projects.

She has received two awards in scientific competitions: the publication of her doctoral thesis by the Foundation for Science and Technology/Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and the publication of her Master’s thesis by the Ministry of Education. A former Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Fellow of the Foundation for Science and Technology, she has participated as a researcher in seven funded projects and was the Principal Investigator of a European project.

Her current research focuses on Educational Sciences, particularly in the areas of Educational Policies, Adult Training, Art and Education, and Pedagogy in Higher Education.
