Biography
Carlos Batista has a degree in Distribution and Logistics Management (Polytechnic Institute of Setubal), a Master’s degree in Organisational Information Systems (Polytechnic Institute of Setubal), a Postgraduate degree in Management and Business Consulting (Institute of Economics and Management of Lisbon - ISEG) and is a Specialist in Management and Administration (Logistics Management). He is currently studying for a PhD in Industrial Engineering at NOVA School of Science and Technology - NOVA FCT. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal. Since 2009, he has been a Professor of Higher Education at School of Business Administration - Polytechnic Institute of Setubal, as part of the Marketing and Logistics Department. From 2020-2024 he was the Course Director of the Distribution and Logistics Management Degree. He teaches on degree in Distribution and Logistics Management, the Master’s Business Sciences and the Master’s in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He supervises master's dissertations and final course projects. Previously he was a Senior Consultant and Trainer, at the private sector, in the areas of Business, Behavioral and IT Sciences with more than 25 years of experience. He has developed his career in medium and large-sized organisations (OEMs), both national and international, in the automotive, logistics, telecommunications, IT, consultancy and education sectors. Responsible for numerous business projects and multidisciplinary teams, he has extensive experience in Project Management. Specialties/areas of interest: Supply Chain and Operations Management, Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems Management, Digital Transformation and ESG.
