Biography
Victor Fernão Pires completed his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Lisbon in 2000, having previously obtained a Master's degree (1995) and a Bachelor's degree in Energy and Electronics (1991) from the same institution, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Energy and Power Systems (1988) from the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon.
He is a Coordinating Professor at the School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.
On a scientific level, he has published 40 articles in specialised journals, 5 book chapters and holds 2 registered patents. His activity also includes participation in 24 major scientific events.
In the field of academic supervision, he has supervised two doctoral theses (and co-supervised another two), in addition to supervising 13 master's dissertations (three of which he co-supervised).
He has been awarded two prizes and/or honours and has served as Principal Investigator on two research projects. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with 144 co-authors on scientific publications, reflecting a history of strong cooperation and impact in the field of Electrical Engineering.
