The pharmaceutical, cosmetics and different areas of regenerative medicine have shown great interest in the development of customized products produced by 3D printing. The production of composite structures in a gelled medium manufactured by 3D printing, which mimic human tissue and which can be customized, is therefore an urgent need. These structures will have great relevance in the treatment of diseases and can fill the current market needs. However, their processing is complex, as they have reduced dimensional control due to shrinkage and low mechanical properties. Therefore, it is extremely important to develop composite structures with adequate properties that can be printed with complex geometries by 3D and that allow cell viability. The composition of the composite will be optimized based on numerical optimization and material characterization methods. The shape, porosity, dimensional control and mechanical integrity of the 3D structures developed will be done using computer simulations and using 3D printing tests. In order to improve the biological response and the mechanical properties of the structure, metallic oxide nanoparticles with antibacterial properties and differentiated cells will be added. The optimized composite 3D structure will be tested in vivo at the PhD Trials® company, and is intended to be a natural choice in the treatment of specific diseases.
