The project aims to develop a coating mortar incorporating a residue from The Navigator Company's industrial complexes – fluidized bed sands from biomass boilers. At the same time, it is intended to contribute to the declassification of waste, within the scope of the General Waste Management Regime, namely through the instrument End of Waste Status (FER). Thus, it is intended to assess whether the residue meets the technical requirements for use as an aggregate in the production of coating mortar and whether its use has globally adverse impacts from an environmental or human health point of view. It is also intended to carry out the economic feasibility study of the mortar, quantifying the market for coating mortars, and the study of the environmental impact of the mortar, using Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) tools. The preeminence of the study is linked to the awareness of the need to use waste, as raw materials, in order to reduce the environmental and economic impacts of its generation and contribute to sustainable industrial development. Thus, two industrial sectors, the Paper Pulp sector and the Civil Construction sector, will contribute to the circular flow (cradle to cradle) that characterizes the Circular Economy.
