The project main goal is to make a diagnosis of the wine sector in the Setúbal Peninsula in the Pandemic context, in order to a better understanding of the difficulties of producers and companies in this sector regarding the recovery of their business, supporting them in the identification of strategies that can be developed in this area. Specifically, this exploratory study intends to (1) Know the constraints of the sector; 2) Identify strengths and opportunities for the sector; 3) Identify key stakeholders in the sector for its recovery; 4) Know the characteristics that differentiate producers and companies that are managing to respond better to the crisis; 5) Propose a RoadMap that includes strategic mitigation options regarding the impacts of the crisis on the wine sector in the Setúbal Peninsula. In terms of the future, it is expected that, based on this exploratory study, it can be replicated in different regions of the country, developing a benchmarking study in order to facilitate the sharing and adoption of good practices, not only for the recovery of the sector, as well as for the continuation of the reinvention of the sector and better preparation to face crisis situations. A comparison with other regions in other EU countries is also planned.
