Maria Helena Gonçalves Martins

Biography

Helena Martins is a professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management at the Polytechnic of Setúbal, where she coordinates the Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, and at Nova SBE. Helena is a founding member of RESILIENCE and a colaborating researcher at CEO.PP, ISCAP, P.Porto. She has been a training consultant for nearly 20 years, collaborating with various companies. Her research focuses on the development of soft skills, with experience in professional training, consulting, and research projects in this area.

She holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Porto, an Erasmus Mundus Master's in Work, Organizational, and Personnel Psychology (WOP-P) from the University of Coimbra and the University of Valencia, Spain, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Minho. Helena has authored several scientific articles and book chapters and has supervised and examined various master's theses throughout her career and collaborated with the UE funded EMIC project, aiming to enhance intercultural skills within diverse work environments. 

Her current focus is the development of soft skills in management students and professionals, especially in the context of crisis situations.
