Biography
Sandra Cristina Dias Nunes holds a PhD in Mathematics, with a Specialization in Statistics, from the Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon. Is a Coordinator Professor in the area of Quantitative Methods, in Department of Economics and Management, Higher School of Business Sciences, Polytechnic Institute of Setubal. Investigates in areas of Multivariate Statistics applied to Business Sciences (Linear and Logistics Regression, Factor Analysis, Cluster Analysis, Forecasting).
Member of the Center for Mathematics and Applications of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon (CMA/FCT/UNL).
The work developed was published in several indexed journals. Has also published some book chapters. Was involved as a researcher in the field of statistics and as a member of the CMA / FCT / UNL, in a project in Risk management in droughts: Identification, monitoring, characterization, prediction and mitigation financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology. Is involved in several projects promoted by CCISP and IPS, namely in the project that studies the economic impact that polytechnic institutes have in the municipality where they are implemented; in the project that analyzes school dropout at IPS and simultaneously promotes academic success.
Is involved in two projects in the field of Tourism, the ROADWINE project, financed by IPS, and the SHIFT project financed by FCT.
