Biography

Telma Guerra Completed a PhD in Mathematics (Partial Differential Equations) in 2014 in the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Nova University of Lisbon, with a grant from the Foundation for Science and Technology, a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics in 2004 and a Degree in Applied Mathematics in 2001 both in the University of Évora. She was a professor of several subjects at the University of Évora and later came to the Polytechnic of Setúbal, as an assistant professor.

She held several management positions, such as being a member of the Scientific Technical Council, the Pedagogical Council, the Council of Representatives of the Barreiro Technology School/Polytechnic of Setúbal and the General Council of the Polytechnic of Setúbal. She was also president of the Pedagogical Council for 6 months.

Currently she is an assistant professor at the Barreiro Technology School/Polytechnic of Setúbal and Researcher (as an integrated member) at the Center for Computational and Stochastic Mathematics (CEMAT), Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon and Researcher (as a collaborative member) at the Center for Regional Resilience and Sustainability (Resilience).

She is a Deputy Diretor of the Barreiro Technology School/Polytechnic of Setúbal and Member of the Scientific Technical Council. She has published 11 papers. Has 1 book chapter. She organized 14 event(s) and participated in 35 event(s). She participated as PhD Student Fellow in 1 project(s) and as a researcher in 6 project(s). 

She works in the area(s) of Exact Sciences with emphasis on Mathematics. 

Research Interests: Optimal Control of Partial Differential Equations; Data assimilation; Computational Fluid Dynamics; Hemodynamics.
