Biography
PhD in History, specializing in Contemporary History (FCSH/NOVA, Lisbon, 2019), Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems and Science (ISEGI/NOVA, 2011) and degree in History and Archaeology (FCSH/NOVA, 2004). Is an integrated researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the NOVA University of Lisbon / IN2PAST - Associate Laboratory for Research and Innovation in Heritage, Arts, Sustainability and Territory and collaborator of the Digital Humanities Lab (DH_Lab) since 2019. Where has integrated projects related to contemporary Portuguese History and the application of GIS to historical research, such as: History of the working class in Portugal in the second half of the nineteenth century; The Development of European Waterways, Road and Rail Infrastructures: A Geographical Information System for the History of European Integration (1825-2005); ... Is a assistant professor at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESE/IPS) since 2024. Where she teaches, since 2018, courses related to the History of Portugal, Teaching and Didactics of Social Sciences and History, History of Education and Cultural Heritage and is part of several ESE/IPS management bodies. Integrates and has integrated research and development projects in the areas of Local History (e.g.: Dossier of memories on the Feira de Sant'Iago (Setúbal); IMAGO MUNDI - Cartographies, artistic practices, community and representations of the territory; ... ) and Teacher training and capacity building (e.g. PRECASE - Capacity Building Programme of the Guinea-Bissau Education System). Is the author and co-author of several scientific articles and book chapters that focus mainly on Local History, Urban History and History of the Working Class in Portugal.
