Biography
Ana Lúcia Caeiro Ramos completed her PhD in Nursing at the Portuguese Catholic University (2013), a Master's degree in Public Health from the New University of Lisbon (2004), a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Portuguese Red Cross School of Health (2001) and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the same institution (2000).
She is a coordinating professor at the School of Health Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, where she also serves as Vice-President of the Technical-Scientific Council, Member of the Council of Representatives, and Deputy Coordinator of the Department of Nursing. She is also a researcher at the Comprehensive Health Research Centre of the New University of Lisbon.
Her scientific output includes 19 articles in specialist journals, 26 book chapters and 5 books. She has organised 13 scientific events and participated in 42. She has supervised 1 doctoral thesis, 28 master's dissertations and co-supervised 6. She has received 2 awards and/or distinctions. In the field of research, she has participated in 7 projects, one of which she was the lead researcher.
Her scientific activity is focused on the areas of Medical and Health Sciences — with an emphasis on Nursing, Public Health and Environmental Health — and Social Sciences, particularly in the field of Education. She has collaborated with 148 researchers.
The main themes of her research include empowerment, assessment of the risk of unintentional injury, promotion of child safety, accident prevention (particularly in the home), family and home environment, nursing, clinical teaching, curriculum assessment and development, cross-cutting skills, nursing research, knowledge translation and learning.
