José Luís Estrelo Gomes de Sousa

Biography

José Luís Estrelo Gomes de Sousa completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering (pre-Bologna) in 2013 at the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra. He obtained a Master’s degree in Systems and Automation in 2000 and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1993 at the same institution. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Setúbal School of Technology of the Setúbal Polytechnic Institute, where he also serves as Vice-President for the Recovery and Resilience Programme. He has published fourteen articles in journals, participated in six events, co-supervised three Master’s theses, supervised four Bachelor’s projects and co-supervised one. He has been involved as a researcher in various projects and has collaborated with fifty-two co-authors in his professional activities. His CV highlights concepts such as energy efficiency, the promotion of energy efficiency in utilities, integrated optimisation of energy resources, demand response, energy management systems and smart grids.
