Biography

Sofia Gago da Silva Corrêa Figueira completed her PhD in Education in 2017 at the University of Lisbon, her Master's in Educational Sciences in 2006, and her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education in 2001, both at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. She completed her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1989 at the Piaget Institute. She is an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, Co-coordinator of the Master's course in Preschool Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, and a Member of the Coordinating Council of Master's Degrees at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. She participates in the working group for monitoring the pedagogical process of the training workshop "Reading for Equality" and the Research Center in Education and Training at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (CIEF-IPS).

She is the Coordinator of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee of the Master's in Preschool Education (renamed by the Director of ESE/IPS - Order No. 8/Director/23) at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, a Member of the General Council of the Luisa Todi School Group as a representative of the educational community by ESE/IPS, an Accredited Trainer with registration No. CCPFC/RFO-13639/01 at the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education, a Member of the Technical-Scientific Council and the Pedagogical Council at ESE/IPS. She has published 4 articles in specialized journals, has 2 book chapters, organized 26 events, participated in 38 events, supervised 133 master's dissertations, received 3 awards and/or honors, and participates or has participated in three projects. She works in the field of Social Sciences with an emphasis on Educational Sciences.
