INCITE researcher coordinates European project BUILD2050

The project, which officially began on February 1, 2022, will last for three years, will be developed by a consortium of seven higher education institutions under the coordination of IPS, through researcher Susana Lucas, from INCITE – Centre for Innovation in Science and Technology of IPS.

BUILD2050 focuses on the development of integrated and transnational training of qualified technicians to design and build new buildings or renovate existing ones to reduce carbon emissions, as well as the production of pollution.

Among the main results to be achieved are the creation of transnational content for eight courses in the Construction 2050 area, the training of the first 30 graduates from different European countries, as well as the launch of a platform and an eBook that will provide the respective contents taught and results of actions.

The project will also result in the creation of the European Guide BUILD2050, aiming, ultimately, to give rise to a consolidated European network of professionals, researchers and policymakers in the thematic areas of Construction 2050.

On the part of the IPS, the researchers Luís Coelho and João Francisco, from the Center for Research in Energy and Environment (CINEA-IPS), also form part of this project, with partner institutions in the consortium being the University of Bologna and the Polytechnic of Milan (Italy), the University of Athens (Greece), University of Bochum (Germany), University of Life Sciences in Warsaw (Poland), and Luleå University of Technology (Sweden).
